Automated non-GUI software test

More than just an option

If business-functions can be emulated via non-graphical (non-GUI) open interfaces of the system to be tested, this access is as a rule characterized by short test durations and enables a high precision of the tests. In any case non-GUI interfaces are hard to understand in a business-based way . Until now they have only been operated by technical experts.

TOSCA serves you in two ways:

• Operation of the interfaces is automated (request generation, response checking, etc.).
• Definition of automated tests occurs, as usual, at a business-based level – the subject that was once only for technicians can thus be also be covered by experts from the business unit.

Examples of the protocols/interfaces already supported: web services, the EDIFACT standard, any fixed-length text structures (for WebSphere MQ, etc.), IDocs for SAP.

Especially for the energy sector, a solution is available for the EDI@energy message format (TOSCA@energy).
